A top priority of Region 7B Consortium is to support efforts of our local businesses to obtain and retain employees. We have been, for nearly 30 years, dedicated to providing links between job seekers, employers and educational facilities.

The Michigan Works! Agency is a resource for businesses to easily access a full range of employment related services find skilled workers and to help job seekers find satisfying careers.

Listed below are some of the services available to employers. Please contact one of our offices to learn more about how we can help your business without charge.

The Michigan Talent Bank is the state's online employment service system which is maintained by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth. Use this system to post job openings or review resumes of job seekers who meet your requirements. In the event that you do not have Internet access, you may use our facilities or have us post your job opening and/or search for qualified job seekers.

Employment Applications can be distributed and accepted at our offices. Avoid the time consuming task of accepting employment applications by allowing us to do this for you.

Interview Rooms are available for employers to conduct job interviews.

Training Needs of your new hires and existing workers can be explored. We may be able to connect you to financial resources and incentives to help with training. Michigan Works! and our partners offer a variety of On-The-Job training programs where employers can receive reimbursement for hiring and training eligible individuals. The amount of reimbursement (50% to 100%) and duration of contract training hours (up to 499) varies by program.

We can connect you to a wide variety of programs designed to bring high school and college students into your workplace through activities such as internships, apprenticeships, and co-op.

We can help you locate resources regarding laws, regulations, business/financial planning or any other employment and training related issues that affect your business.

Business Forums: Speakers with special expertise provide interesting discussions of issues impacting local employers. Past forums have touched on new labor laws, workman’s compensation issues and other human resource concerns.

A Veterans Employment Specialist is available to assist employers with veteran related issues. Services include, but are not limited to, referring qualified veteran job seekers, assisting businesses that have federal contracts in meeting their obligations and assisting with tax credit information for hiring veterans. The Specialist can also help your current employees with any veteran-related questions.

A Rehabilitation Representative is available to assist employers with disability-related issues. Services include, but are not limited to, employee recruitment, employee retention, interviewing and hiring assistance, consultation on the Americans with Disabilities Act, disability sensitivity training, reasonable accommodation recommendations and ergonomic assessments.
